Cinderella Affair Prom Dress Design Contest Project

Arizona Apparel Foundation recently held a contest for high school fashion students at East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) to design a plus sized prom dress. EVIT student, Nicole Begay, was the winner of the contest. Congratulations, Nicole! Nicole's winning dress was manufactured in the FABRIC building utilizing the services located inside. Nicole got to experience the responsibilities of a real fashion designer and get her name and logo on the labels! These dresses are being donated to The Cinderella Affair and will be given away to girls in need this Saturday, March 25, 2017 8 am-3 pm, and April 1 and 8, 2017 8 am-3 pm at The Cinderella Affair Boutique, at 411 N. McKemy Avenue, Chandler, Arizona.

Fashion Spectacle: Eyewear + Fashion Show

Marshall Shore, Arizona's Hip Historian from WEARizona, will emcee this fascinating fashion show featuring local designer favorites like Sam Hamati, Heather Kirk, and Electric Lyon. They're taking inspiration from eye wear by Sassy Glasses, Framed Ewe, i2i, and Central Eye Works. What in the world will they whip up for us? Come at 7 pm to meet the designers and optical boutiques in person, and attend the fashion show at 8 pm.

Arizona Apparel Foundation Local Fashion Designer & Boutique Benefit Sale

Local fashion designers and boutiques are joining up to bring you one of the most unique shopping events of the year. Free admission and tours of the new fashion incubator. Vendors include Phoenix Fashion Week's 2016 Designer of the Year, Laura Tanzer, Tiger Lily Dress Shop, specializing in Euro-style clothing for curvy women, quirky-cool shoes by ME Linda, ultimately wearable designs by House of Holmes, and much more. Meet the designers in person, and enjoy a tour of the working incubator all weekend. All vendors are donating a portion of  their proceeds to Arizona Apparel Foundation to help grow the fashion industry in Arizona. 

TEDx Fountain Hills: Speakers on Fashion

Lana May: Jewelry Designer Education Exhibition

Professional Couturier, designer and highly sought after instructor, Lana May, will be hosting a jewelry industry exhibition at F.A.B.R.I.C. Attendees will learn how to make a statement with jewelry, a few jewelry making and design tricks of the trade, and even how kids can wear jewelry! Enjoy a cool model presentation, and try on unique designer pieces. Children are welcomed and encouraged to attend.

Lana May is an award winning, internationally acclaimed, professional couturier, jewelry designer and highly sought after teacher. She received her first degree in mechanical engineering and a second degree in clothing and accessory design. Now she teaches at her home studio in the Phoenix area, all over the USA, Germany, and the Ukraine. She is the winner of contests such as Bead&Button, CRYSTALLIZED™ - Swarovski Elements, Fire Mountain Gems and Beads, and more. Her bead works travel all over the world to International shows, festivals, and museums (Japan, France, Germany, Ukraine, Russia, fashion weeks in USA). Her bead works and patterns have been published in books, catalogs, and magazines in many different countries. She is the author of "Mixed Media Jewelry Techniques."

FREE FASHION ILLUSTRATION CLASS - Intro to Fashion Illustration

We are celebrating the 5 year anniversary of the Blue Bird Pinups! Join us for native fashion, indigenous resistance, and unity at F.A.B.R.I.C. the Arizona Fashion Headquarters. We'll be showcasing vintage fashion from the 1940s & 1950s by the Blue Bird Pinups and the designs of OXDX Clothing. Performances by Rippy & the Sillyettes, Kahara Hodges, and Lady Yazzie.

Dress to impress as we will have a vintage photo booth and prizes for "Best Dressed". We'll dance the night away with cake, punch, those ole school vibes, and sounds from DJ Jermatik.

OXDX will be releasing a special BBPU collaboration capsule and fashion show with participants from the BBPU workshop.

Vintage Attire Is Encouraged :)
