Local fashion designers and boutiques are joining up to bring you one of the most unique shopping events of the year. Free admission and tours of the new fashion incubator. Vendors include Phoenix Fashion Week's 2016 Designer of the Year, Laura Tanzer, Tiger Lily Dress Shop, specializing in Euro-style clothing for curvy women, quirky-cool shoes by ME Linda, ultimately wearable designs by House of Holmes, and much more. Meet the designers in person, and enjoy a tour of the working incubator all weekend. All vendors are donating a portion of  their proceeds to Arizona Apparel Foundation to help grow the fashion industry in Arizona.  See you there! Come hear an intriguing account of the multi-generational Navajo wool community's contribution to the U.S. wool fabric industry, cool cutting edge technology news (how about clothing with built-in micro computers?!), and intelligent discussions about contemporary ethical issues in fashion manufacturing.

Marshall Shore, Arizona's Hip Historian from WEARizona, will emcee this fascinating fashion show featuring local designer favorites like Sam Hamati, Heather Kirk, and Electric Lyon. They're taking inspiration from eye wear by Sassy Glasses, Framed Ewe, i2i, and Central Eye Works. What in the world will they whip up for us? Come at 7 pm to meet the designers and optical boutiques in person, and attend the fashion show at 8 pm.

Tracey Martin is a successful designer, Sustainability Life Strategist & Wellness Coach, founder of Threads of Evolution, speaker and eco-entrepreneur. A conscious conversation with Tracey will disrupt your current thought process on how you buy your clothing and who makes it. Tracey will discuss the social, ethical, and moral impacts our clothing decisions have on the world. Refreshments will be served.

Cinderella Affair Prom Dress Project

Arizona Apparel Foundation recently held a contest for high school fashion students at East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) to design a plus sized prom dress. EVIT student, Nicole Begay, was the winner of the contest. Congratulations, Nicole! Nicole's winning dress was manufactured in the FABRIC building utilizing the services located inside. Nicole got to experience the responsibilities of a real fashion designer and get her name and logo on the labels! These dresses are being donated to The Cinderella Affair and will be given away to girls in need this Saturday, March 25, 2017 8 am-3 pm, and April 1 and 8, 2017 8 am-3 pm at The Cinderella Affair Boutique, at 411 N. McKemy Avenue, Chandler, Arizona.

Vocational Training For Tempe Young Adults With Disabilities

Arizona Apparel Foundation and The Centers For Habilitation are teaming up to provide technical training for young adults with disabilities. These eager learners are currently working with a job coach in the F.A.B.R.I.C. building to gain vocational skills in the fashion industry. Our hope is that our program participants will contribute to the developing workforce in apparel manufacturing in Arizona. Best wishes, TCH trainees!
